1.1 What is the GSC?
The Global Sustainability Consortium (GSC) is the world's leading multi-stakeholder action platform dedicated to accelerating the achievement of global sustainability goals. We unite industries, governments, academia, and civil society to co-create scalable solutions and drive systemic change.
1.2 What is GSC's mission?
Our mission is to transform sustainability commitments into tangible action and measurable impact by providing the collaborative framework, strategic direction, and expert-driven tools needed to solve the world's most pressing challenges.
1.3 How is GSC different from other sustainability organizations or chambers of commerce?
Unlike chambers of commerce, we are a focused, project-driven action platform. Unlike consultancies, we facilitate peer-to-peer collaboration rather than selling proprietary advice. We are not a lobby group but a neutral convener that turns dialogue into deployable projects, tools, and standards.
1.4 What does "Uniting Stakeholders" mean in practice?
It means we create structured collaboration between entities that traditionally operate in silos: private corporations across competing sectors, public policymakers, university researchers, financial institutions, and NGOs. All work together in our Working Committees and flagship projects.
1.5 Who owns and governs the GSC?
The GSC is a mission-driven entity established and legally owned by its founding organization. Its strategic direction is set by a Governing Board elected from the Core Membership. Day-to-day operations are executed by the Secretariat. High-level guidance is provided by an independent Advisory Board of global experts. The consortium's mission and impact are owned and advanced collectively by its entire member community.
1.6 Is GSC a non-profit?
The GSC is structured as a mission-driven entity. All revenue is reinvested into developing our platforms, tools, research, and events to further our collective goals.
